What happens at my Reiki Sessions

What to expect during a Reiki Session:

A typical Reiki session is given on a massage table with you being fully clothed and a light blanket placed upon you. Most often, a session has a duration of 45 to 60 minutes. As your practitioner, I will lightly place my hands on or above the energy centers of your body to facilitate balance, harmony, and deep relaxation. As the client, you may or may not feel sensations throughout your body. Many clients report feelings of warmth, coolness, muscle twitches and sometimes emotional releases. Some clients actually fall asleep as they enter into a deep state of relaxation during the Reiki session. If at any time during the session you have any concerns you should let your practitioner know so that appropriate adjustment can be made. Your safety and comfort are always the main consideration.

Tips to prepare for your session:

     • Wear comfortable, loose clothing with as little jewelry as possible

     • Shoes that are easily removable

     • Long hair should be pulled back for access to the neck

     • Avoid alcohol the day of the treatment

     • Have a light snack or meal before your session

     • Hydrate with water before and following your session

     • Bring your best intentions with you

Winter Within

It’s been cold and snowy. The light is short. So we go within to rest and recharge our energies. I am always trying to deepen my knowledge and fortify my practice with a well-rounded study and this winter I am taking advantage of the time to learn all I can.

Just for Today, I will not worry.

I have my “She-Shed”. It sits cold and empty for now. But soon spring will come, and I will begin to transform it into my Reiki studio.

Just for Today, I will not be angry.

I am dealing with my emotional distress about my beloved pet, Samantha (Sammi) who is suffering from diabetes. She has her ups and downs. Sometimes I do feel angry that she is going through this and suffering. But I try not to let my anger get in the way. I am certified in Animal Reiki. I spend periods of time laying hands on her little body, with one intention. To heal, and calm.

Just for Today, I will do my work Honestly.

I go to work every weekday. I work hard to get everything done and done correctly. I depend on my job for many things both financially and personally. I give my all. My other work is Reiki. I am being honest with you here and now. I know it will be weeks of not making personal (in person) appointments with those of you who need treatments. But, honestly, I am still here. I am able to do Distant Healing Reiki sessions in place of in-person sessions which I will resume after my building is ready to use. If you need anything, please contact me.

Just for Today, I will be Thankful for my Many Blessings.

I am blessed in so many ways. I am thankful every day for my children, my grandchildren, my husband, home, and gifts. A new year brings much promise. I am looking forward not back.

Just for Today I will Give Love and Show Respect for Every Living Thing.

This is what I am striving for. How can I explain this? When I try to put this into words it is difficult. Difficult because there are small things like bugs that I sometimes step on and make sure they do not invade my house. That is a simple fact. Who wants bugs and mice in their home? I am a meat eater. So, you see, it is hard to make myself believe that I am being respectful and loving to EVERY living thing. But I do try. As we only can. We do our best to be respectful and loving to other humans and to other animals and plants. The earth too.

Let us all strive to give Love and Light,

Diane
